The Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River Area was established on March 20, 2021, as a 501c(4) non-profit organization. Since its founding, the club has been committed to supporting both citizens and organizations throughout the Alleghany Highlands.
Our members are dedicated to making a difference by contributing their time, skills, and leadership to a variety of activities. Each member actively participates in projects and initiatives designed to strengthen our community and provide valuable support to those in need.

Our Unique Club Format and Volunteering Approach
The Kiwanis Club of the Jackson River Area stands out due to its meeting schedule and hands-on approach to service. Unlike many clubs that gather multiple times each month, our club meets just once per month, on the third Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This format accommodates our membership, which is primarily made up of working adults with young families.
By limiting formal meetings, we are able to dedicate more of our available time to volunteering directly in the community. Our members are actively engaged in hands-on service projects, collaborating with numerous community partners throughout the Alleghany Highlands. This focus allows us to make a tangible impact where it matters most.
In addition, we welcome and encourage youngsters and family members to attend our meetings. By involving families in our activities, we foster a sense of community and inclusiveness, ensuring that our service efforts benefit not only individuals but also future generations.
